As we prepare for our 2026 landscaping season, Eco-Yards Ltd. is excited to share our vision for the year ahead.
Over the winter months, we’ve enhanced several key systems to strengthen communication, improve reliability, and refine how we plan and manage projects from start to finish.
Here’s what you can expect from us:
- Eco-Friendly, Ever-Beautiful, Easy-care Landscape Design and Construction
- We remain committed to creating sustainable outdoor spaces that are beautiful in every season, functional, and easy to maintain. As part of that commitment, we’ve refined our services to make high-quality, eco-conscious landscaping more accessible to those looking for their own Eco-Yard.
- Garden Bed Maintenance Services
- We are excited to welcome a new gardening specialist to our team, strengthening our ability to support both existing and new clients with high-quality care. Our expanded services include weeding, pruning, planting, edging, and mulching, all focused on thoughtfully enhancing and maintaining healthy, beautiful yards.
- Eco-Yards Compost Tea Spray
- For many years, Eco-Yards has proudly offered compost tea spray at consistent, accessible pricing. As costs have increased, we’ve thoughtfully reviewed this offering and made the necessary adjustments to ensure we can continue delivering at a high standard. This meant pausing our winter discount this season.
We appreciate the continued support and interest from our community. As this program grows, we welcome referrals to others who may benefit from healthier, more resilient landscapes. - Rainwater Capture and Rain Barrel Systems
- Rainwater capture systems and rain barrels are here to stay, and not just because of Calgary’s water restrictions. Making the most of rainwater that lands on our roof and property is a simple, yet impactful water-wise solution.
We’ve sourced 1,000-litre totes with a unique advantage. These totes were previously used for hydrogen peroxide, the same solution we use to sanitize our equipment and tools. This means they’re among the cleanest, odour-free options available and a product that is not always easy to find!
To make this even more accessible, we’re introducing standard pricing for fully installed systems, including ground preparation, rain barrels with stands, and all the necessary connections such as spigots, overflows and all-season downspout diverters.
Through a partnership between the City of Calgary and Green Calgary, residents can access a rain barrel rebate program. This is a great opportunity to invest in water management strategies that benefit both your property and the city we call home. Many of our clients are choosing to reduce or replace conventional lawns in favour of more eco-friendly, low maintenance yards. We offer a variety of options to support this transition.
For clients who still want a turf area, we can install alternative turf solutions, while those who prefer grass can choose a slower-growing blend that uses less water. Overseeding with micro-clover is another simple, effective way to eliminate reliance on fertilizers. - Alternative Ground Cover and Turf
We’re passionate about promoting eco-friendly ground cover solutions that reduce maintenance while supporting healthy, resilient landscapes. These include clover, micro-clover, grass-clover mixes, eco-friendly grass, mulch, and decorative rock.
Over time, we’ve trialed and explored a variety of alternative plant-based ground covers such as wild strawberries, thyme, pussy toes, and other hardy species well-suited to our climate. - Front Yard Patios and Pathways
As more homeowners look to make the most of their properties, we continue to design and build inviting, durable patios and pathways that enhance both function and curb appeal. We work with a variety of materials including natural stone, concrete pavers, wood, concrete, and compacted rock fine patios and pathways to create a thoughtful outdoor living areas customized to each client. - Simplified Tree Restore Treatments
Our new deep injection lance, proven effective throughout 2025, allows us to apply compost tea spray directly into the soil for maximum root benefit. This eliminates the need for installing injection wells, reducing both time and cost while improving efficiency. - Tree Deep Root Fertilization
In 2025, we introduced deep root fertilization to support healthier, more resilient trees. In 2026, we will expand this service further, with a focus on encouraging strong establishment and growth in larger, newly planted trees.
